Thank you for your interest in our sleep consulting services! I am eager to help you help your child sleep better. But, before you purchase, I just wanted to give you some information:
- If your baby is younger than 2 or 3 months old, my recommendations will be limited. I would love to help you, but under 2 months old a baby has limited abilities to soothe him/herself and sometimes it’s the luck of the draw if you have an “easy” or “difficult” sleeper.
Although I am not against crying methods (we all need to find the method that works for our family), I don’t recommend allowing any crying over 5 minutes at a young age (read more about my philosophy). If you were to purchase services, I don’t want you to feel robbed because of my limited recommendations.
I have posted an article, 10 Tips to Help Your Newborn Sleep. I also have some recommendations to help newborns sleep in my Help Your Child Sleep E-Book. I also recommend the book The Happiest Baby on the Block or The Happiest Baby on the Block (DVD).
- If your baby has been sleeping very well for a long time and has just started sleeping poorly and it’s been less than a week, I probably would not recommend anything. Sometimes something takes a few days to reveal itself.
Give it another few days to a week and see if the sleep problems go away or you see the reason they’ve started sleeping poorly all of a sudden. If he/she is still having problems, then you may need to intervene. I would rather you not buy services only for me to say “give it a few days”. But, do come back if your problems linger! Don’t let chronic sleep deprivation continue for either of your sakes!
