A new mom experience changes physically and mentally. The initial days are full of stress and worrying about looking after the baby. To top that, you have a home to look after. Keeping the house clean during this time adds to your stress. Don’t worry; here are a few tips to keep your house clean.
Clear your sink
Never leave your dishes overnight. It attracts germs and cockroaches. After your dinner, place all the dishes in the dishwasher for a run. If you don’t have a dishwasher, pour some warm water over the utensils and dishes. Leave it for some time till you clean the gas stove and the kitchen counter. Clean the cabinets and all the appliances you have used with a piece of cloth. Then go back to your utensils and rinse them off. Finally, clean the sink and leave it to dry.
Vacuum the floor
Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the floor and upholstery. You can clean the floor every alternate day or once in three days depending on how soon it gets dirty.
Taking care of laundry
Use a laundry bag to drop all the dirty laundry. According to the number of clothes accumulated, you can put them in the washing machine every day or alternate days. You will also have quite a few baby clothes to wash every day. Keep the baby clothes separate from others. Wash all the baby clothes together with mild detergent.
Use cleaning solution for tough stains
Don’t waste your time on removing tough stains. You can make your own cleaning solution for easy removal of tough stains. Mix vinegar and warm water to clean food deposits and stains. Dip a cloth or scrub in the vinegar solution and scrub the stain. It will instantly remove the stain. You can also use lemon and warm water solution to remove tough stains and debris. To remove stains and food particles from the microwave, place a bowl with water and lemon pieces. Set the timer for 2 minutes. Once it cools down, wipe off with a piece of cloth.
Keeping the house organized is difficult. Always place things back in its place and it will help you keep the house organized. Place the newspaper in the newspaper rack, TV and music system remotes back in the shelf, books back in the shelf, and washed and ironed clothes arranged in the wardrobe. If you do these on a real-time basis, it will save your time at the end of the day when you’re organizing the house.
